Update to Sharepoint & Issues with List Component in Dynamics CRM

Post Author: Joe D365 |

If you have SharePoint integrated with Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online, you may have noticed a recent service update where you now experience the following:

  • You cannot open a PowerPoint file by clicking its link in a document list. Instead, you must download it, and then open it.
  • When you search from a document list, the search results page never stops trying to load.

To resolve this issue, you'll need to install the new Microsoft Dynamics CRM List Component for SharePoint Server 2013. You can download the list component from the Microsoft Download Center.

Important:   Only use the new List component after the SharePoint Online service update is complete. To learn when the SharePoint Online service update is scheduled for you, refer to the Office 365 service alert email that you were sent. You can also go to the Microsoft Service Health Dashboard.

Happy CRM'ing!

  1. Is this only applicable to CRM Online, Joe?
We are using CRM Dynamics on-premise and are experiencing a lot of issues with the integration to Sharepoint.

    1. Hi - this should work ok with both crm online and crm onprem. What issues are you running into??

      1. Mainly with the Documents section. When trying to Open or Upload many times loading taking forever for users.

      2. Hey Alex,

Thanks for the response. Some users have been experiencing issues when trying to view Documents section or Upload to this section that is integrated to Sharepoint. It just keeps loading.

Do you think this download would help?

        Thanks!

        1. Hi - So the two items I would check are: are you using the latest and greatest crm sharepoint web part? And is both the crm url and sharepoint url in the same IE zone such as trusted sites ?

          1. Hey Alex,

Yes we are using the newest versions of both. The issue we have is when we go to chance a Document Location on the CRM form the new document page just keeps loading.

Do you have any other thoughts?

  2. As there arises many issues, this new List component of Dynamics CRM after the SharePoint Online service should be beneficial.

  3. Hi Joe, we have CRM 2015 Sharepoint integration for all the users except 1 the Copy Shortcut link in the Action menu of the Sharepoint IFRAME is disabled. Can you please let us know the reason if you are aware.
