Microsoft Dynamics 365 Power Apps Consultant


About the Position

PowerObjects, an HCL Technologies Company is seeking a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Power Apps Consultant to join their award-winning, global team. The Power Apps Consultant must be comfortable facilitating/running customer facing workshops, have a good level of knowledge on the out-of-the-box features and functionality of Dynamics, and additionally be a champion and expert in Microsoft Power Apps solutions. They will stay up to date on the latest functionality offered by the platform and work with team members both in a project and practice context. The Power Apps Consultant will also be keen to improve upon their D365 and Power Apps skills and dedictate themselves to a high level of understanding of new features released within the Microsoft Business Applications, specifically the Power Platform space.

Essential Functions

  • Exhibit PowerObjects’ Guiding Principles
  • Act as a product Subject Matter Expert in Power BI, Power Apps and Power Automate and stay up to date on the new features and updates in the Power Platform
  • Have a high level of comfort with all aspects of the Power Platform including design, solution architecture, issue identification/resolution, and support
  • Knowledgeable on the current state and future direction of the Power Platform
  • Communicate and translate technical concepts to non-technical customers and business leaders
  • Work with the Education Team to deliver super-user and end-user training, as needed
  • Help customers define and document processes when there are no processes in place
  • Implement related customizations and reports to model the client’s organizational processes as directed based on the system architecture
  • Provide input and maintenance of functional and solution design/specification documents
  • Facilitate functional workshops with customers, document requirements, and design appropriate solutions
  • Provide client support at the appropriate time of the overall implementation cycle
  • Develop and maintain test scripts
  • Deliver internal sessions on best practices and new functionality as well as features
  • Advise customers on best practices for CRM processes and user interface components

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree from and accredited University
  • Microsoft Dynamics CRM Certifications strongly desired
  • Related Power Platform Certifications and official coursework strongly desired
  • Hands-on professional experience within a consultancy environment
  • At least 2 end-to-end full life cycle implementations of Microsoft Dynamics 365
  • Sound knowledge of at least 3 of the following modules: Sales, Service, Marketing, Social Engagement, USD, PSA, Field Service, and/or MS Portals
  • Knowledge and experience with developing Power Apps and canvas driven apps as well as an understanding on the difference between them
  • Skilled in Power Platform code syntax and language requirements, API, or rest service integrations
  • Expert with Power BI development for dashboards, reports, and standalone visuals

  • Familiarity and understanding of Power Platform licensing structure, plans and the costs associated
  • Experience working with SharePoint Designer workflows, InfoPath, or any other solution type conversion to Power Platform solutions
  • Understanding of SharePoint integration with D365 CE
  • Familiar with Azure DevOps or other similar enterprise planning and delivery tools
  • Advanced use of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Visio
  • Ability and experience working in both Agile/Waterfall project delivery
  • Ability and a good level of knowledge with project tools such as Azure DevOps (TFS, VSTS), MS Project, MS PowerPoint, Word, and Visio
  • Proficient at Power Platform code syntax and language requirements, API, or rest service integrations
  • Familiarity with Azure logic apps and Azure functions
  • Experience in solution delivery with tools other than Power Platform such as Office 365, D365, etc
  • Ability to work with functional teams with both onshore and offshore resources
  • Ability to demonstrate a clear approach to methodology as well as functional capabilities
  • Excellent client facing skills e.g. verbal, client demonstrations, deliver training within an organization
  • Ability to balance short-term demands while maintaining the long-term vision needed to guide a customer through the implementation process
  • Ability to work with junior team members both in a project and practice context
  • Expected to be flexible with time and capable of working in a process-oriented environment
  • Be comfortable participating and contributing in pre-sales engagements

  • Solid Microsoft platform Software or IT experience

  • Proven background with state-of-the art IT technologies, including Service Oriented Architecture concepts
  • System performance measurement and optimization
  • Experience working with offshore teams
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform and Azure components
  • Exposure to version control applications such as Azure DevOps
  • Exposure to Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement
  • Knowledge of installation and technical configuration of Dynamics platform components
  • Experience in reviewing Technical Design Documents, Solution Architecture, Deployment, Operations Guides, Readiness Plans
  • Knowledge of Power BI, SSRS, SSAS, and SSIS
