About the Position

PowerObjects, an HCL Technologies Company is seeking a Business Intelligence Architect to join our award-winning and growing team. This individual will have experience designing and developing end-to-end business intelligence solutions, with at least 3-4 end-to-end implementations and project experience using Microsoft's business intelligence tool stack, primarily focused on SQL Server, SSIS and Power BI. Also, this individual will have the ability to demonstrate gravitas to take C-suite directors on a journey and identify their business problems while presenting with flair. The successful candidate will demonstrate a clear understanding of BI and data warehouse environments and related technologies. The chosen candidate will work with all levels of the business to document requirements, design, develop, test and support data warehouse operating environments and reporting solutions.

Essential Functions

  • Presentation flair – ability to impress C-Suite directors/take them on a journey
  • Work BI into a broader project implementation strategy
  • Ability to direct and work with the client and project team to construct presentation layers that are desirable to the end client
  • Work closely with Senior Client stakeholders to understand reporting and analytics requirements and to guide on best practice patterns and licensing patterns
  • Work alongside our Microsoft Dynamics consulting teams, determine business information and reporting requirements with key subject matter experts and set out in an overall reporting strategy
  • Provide BI technical and architectural guidance to projects and teams and assist data analysts in various data mining and reporting techniques
  • Provide on-the-job training for new or less experienced team members
  • Work with Technical Architect to define license and cost estimates and usage patterns for client

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in at least 3-4 end-to-end implementations involving designing and building of enterprise data warehouses and related processes and proven expertise in data modeling
  • Self-starter who is an exceptional team player with a positive attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Experience facilitating meetings, building consensus and mediating compromises when necessary with stakeholders and technical staff
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple assignments and priorities

Desired Skills

  • Experience leading the data architecture design including Extract Transfer Load (ETL) processes, operational data store (ODS), enterprise data warehouse (EDW), data marts and data lakes to deliver the agreed strategy
  • Experience leading the design and architecture of the required data model, employing dimensional modeling techniques (slowly changing dimensions, accumulating snapshots, bridge dimensions, etc.) and ensuring changes adhere to good architectural practice
  • Experience leading the design of associated ETL processes and encourage the development of reusable routines and patterns
  • Experience leading the design and build team to develop visually engaging reports and dashboards through Power BI
  • Experience in architecting, designing and implementing solutions in the Microsoft Azure stack using technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, SQL Server, Synapse Analytics, Analysis Services and Power BI
  • Experience explaining complex processes and circumstances in technical and non-technical terms to ensure all understand
  • Strong people skills, able to engage with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels
  • Leading on the proof of concept of new architecture solutions to establish the effectiveness of requirements and ability to deliver quickly in order for our clients to keep improving on the speed at which data can be converted to insight and influence business decisions
  • Full and detailed working knowledge of data warehousing methodologies, data modeling and dealing with big data
