Creating marketing emails within the Dynamics Marketing module has been simplified with the drag-and-drop technology approach adopted in the system. Pulling in images, dynamics content, and even embedding videos only take a few clicks. What is important, though, is ensuring emails make it to the intended inbox. Fortunately, with Microsoft’s newest features, the Spam checker and Accessibility checker, it is easy to increase our odds of delivery to the top of the inbox and available to be read by all.
Directly at the top of your marketing email, you will see a doctor’s stethoscope icon and the label of Spam checker (highlighted in the image below). Once you are ready to send out your email, simply click this button to get an understanding of the email delivery.
If your Spam checker score is low (as shown in the image below), you should be in the clear. But, if you want to ensure delivery, use the Details dropdown and follow the instructions provided to adjust your email and get your risk as low as possible. The embedded technology will analyze your email and give suggestions on how to update your email. Again, simply follow the Details bullet points, save your email, and re-click the Spam checker button to verify if your score has changed. This will help you with your design, and ensure your hard work is read.
As emails continue to gain popularity over physical print, it is becoming increasingly important to ensure that your emails are accessible by everyone, including the visually impaired. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), there are 1.3 billion people worldwide living with some form of visual impairment. Dynamics Marketing has created a tool (available in the Wave 2 release on October 1st, 2020) that will help marketers meet all email accessibility standards.
Once you have finished creating your email in the designer tab, click the Accessibility checker button (highlighted below) and your email content will be run against Microsoft’s Accessibility Standards to find any issues. Once this has been run, you will receive a list of the issues that need to be addressed and details on how to update your content.
The great part about this tool is it gives you the ability to update/fix the issues directly within the checker. In our example here, we see what the issue directions are ‘Add descriptive alt text for the image,’ and we have two options for updating. We can either enter our text into the textbox, or we can click the button to make the image decorative. Once updated, we click the Check it again button and ensure our issue is resolved.
