Tier 1 Environment Changes to Dynamics 365 F&O Licensing

Microsoft recently announced that Tier 1 environments will not be included in the purchase of Dynamics 365 Finance, Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management, Dynamics 365 Project Operations, or Dynamics 365 Commerce applications. See below for the different potential scenarios that may apply:

  • No additional Sandbox: Develop & Test (Tier 1) Add-on purchases allowed
  • Empty Sandbox: Develop & Test (Tier 1) slot in LCS will be removed
  • Existing Sandbox: Develop & Test (Tier 1) environments will not be impacted
  • Deleted Sandbox: Develop & Test (Tier 1) environment will not be re-provisioned

Beginning December 1, 2020, Microsoft will be decommissioning environments and advising customers to redeem credits, which can be utilized for other resources. Click here for the form required to redeem credits.
