CRM 2011 Mobile Express - Setting It Up and Viewing

Post Author: Joe D365 |

I was doing some CRM 2011 End-User training last week for an organization and we discussed employees being able to access CRM data from their Mobile Devices and how this would make their business much more efficient. One of the great out of the box features of CRM is the ability to access their CRM data on their mobile devices – whether they are in an airport or at a client site – CRM 2011 Mobile Express allows access to real time information.

Setting up CRM 2011 Mobile Express

In CRM 2011 the navigation of setting up Mobile Express is configured so it exists within each entity.

For example, if you want to enable Accounts for Mobile Express, go to Settings –> Customization –> Customize the System –> click on the Account entity, and make sure that the checkbox for Mobile Express is checked:

CRM 2011 Mobile Express

To customize the Mobile Form navigate to Forms underneath the entity and find the mobile form

Open the form and select the fields you want to appear within Mobile Express and remove unnecessary ones. One very important thing to keep in mind when working with Mobile Express is that the fields that will display on the Mobile Device are limited. Mobile devices generally have a small viewing area so selecting only the most relevant fields is important.

Viewing your CRM 2011 on your Mobile Device

To access their CRM Mobile, simply append /m to the end of the URL used to access Microsoft CRM. For example: https://sample.crm.dynamics.com/m. (You can even try appending /m to the URL in a regular browser to get a look at the Mobile Express view without using a mobile device.)

Click the "Accounts" link to see a list of your accounts, "Contacts" link to see a list of your contacts, etc.

Click on one of the "Contacts" in the list to see how your account information is displayed.

A great feature is that you already have links to existing objects related to the contact you are viewing.

More and more clients need their information at their fingertips and CRM 2011 Mobile Express is a great way to accomplish just that! With CRM Mobile 2011 clients can access their data from anywhere, anytime and have access to real time information. Don't overlook this great feature and if you need additional help please reach out to the CRM Experts at PowerObjects!!

Happy CRM'ing

  1. On mobile Express, default view, of all existing views, shows only frist two columns of that view. How we can provide more than 2 columns in the view list.

  2. Dynamics CRM 2011 is updated for many features. Also accessing CRM data from Mobile Devices is possible now and it would be helpful for making the business efficient. But it is very important to know the process of Setting up CRM. So thanks for this post.

  3. Hello,
On custom entities it all works correct.

But do you know how you can show Attachments in the mobile view?
