In this blogpost, we show you how to upload a signature or pen input from a Canvas App to Dynamics 365 as an attachment on a particular entity record.
If you are new to Dynamics 365 or have upgraded to D365 from an earlier version of AX, you probably need help navigating the waters! There are beacons of light you may not be aware of that can help keep you between the navigational buoys! Let’s explore 3 very easy options…
First, the navigation bar can be enabled (by your system administrator), which displays the navigation breadcrumb trail previously available in earlier versions of AX.
Simply select System Administration > Setup > Client performance options > Toggle “Yes” to Enable legacy navigation bar.
Select OK to save the selection.
Now, when navigating D365 menus or using the search tool, you will be able to clearly see the navigation path on the menu bar. The search field will be smaller as a result, but it works the same when you enter and select a value.
For example, enter a search value (e.g., “aging”). Results will appear for all relative results associated with the term.
After selecting the desired form from the search menu, the navigation path will now display for the form you’ve selected.
Note the following about the navigation bar:
Now let’s take a quick look at the navigation pane. Did you know that D365 maintains a list of recent places you accessed? Select the “recent” option to see the last 10 forms accessed in D365 in the order in which they were selected. Simply select an option to take you to that form.
Lastly, if you regularly access a particular form in D365, you can add it to your favorites for quick access. Simply mark (or unmark) the star on the menu to save (or remove) the form from your favorites. For example, if you regularly access the movement journal, navigate on the menu list to the movement journal. Select the star next to “Movement.”
After you mark the form, it will appear as a favorite on the navigation pane. From there you can simply select the favorite (e.g., Movement) to take you to the desired form (e.g., Movement journal) vs. navigating the menu.
Using the shortcuts on the navigation menu and enabling the navigation bar will help users glide through the D365 waters!
Happy D365 sailing!
