Note: Prior to initiating the installation, close any Excel or Word documents to prevent loss of data during the installation process.

8. Click “Connect” and enter your credentials.

Note: If you own contact records in Dynamics CRM, the add-in will sync those CRM contacts into your Outlook contacts, which could create the potential for duplicate Outlook contacts. If you wish to stop automatic CRM to Outlook Syncing for Contacts altogether see our blog post here.

9. Those intending to use offline client, should ensure that synchronization is enabled only for the required entities and views as synchronization and storage of the entire database on the local machine can affect performance. To configure which entities will be synced, navigate to File >> CRM >> Go Offline >> Manage Offline Filters in Outlook.

  1. do you have the exact same functionality for Outlook if using On-Prem version as if you use the cloud version?

    1. Hi Andrew - Yes - the outlook crm client has the same functionality in on-prem or cloud/crm online version.

  2. hi,

In our client organization, we are planning to roll out the CRM 2015 Outlook plug-in to all users. But CRM is not used by everbody and those users would not be configuring the CRM organization. Is there any outlook performance impact for the users who will not configure the CRM organization? I mean is there any difference in outlook performance if the the Plug-in was not at all installed?

    1. Hi - yes there is. We highly recommend only installing the outlook crm client on the workstations that will be using and configuring the outlook crm client.

  3. Is there a step by step process for deploying to many desktops at once? I don't want to have to install each instance separately, I want to be able to install this through SCCM 2012. Is that possible, and is there a guide? We use the cloud version of CRM.

  4. We currently use Microsoft CRM dynamic online 2015 and we install the
Outlook Client. Actually we are on Windows 7 pro X64 version.

Office are also install in X64. The problem is when we use the
plugin, in the background, the plugin start a couple of IE X86 process
and made the experience very poor.

If we just rename the IE X86 folder in C:Program Files
    (x86)Internet Explorer to C:Program Files (x86)Internet Explorer.bak
the process are not find by Outlook and the performance are improved
really hight. The Outlook plugin seen to work fine and no IE x86 or X64
    are started by outlook.

My question is it's there a way to tell Outlook CRM Plugin to not use IE when we navigate in Outlook to access the CRM item ?

    Thanks
