Profile
Jim grew up in Rochester, Minnesota, and graduated from Rochester Mayo High School. He spent nearly ten years in the investment world, opening an online brokerage office in St. Paul for Scottrade and growing it to the company's third largest revenue producer. In July 2001, Jim bought into PowerObjects with high school classmate, Dean Jones, to help take the company to the next level. The fact that PowerObjects made it through the dot-com boom and September 11 is a testament to Jim's drive to succeed. The company continues to grow and Jim forecasts annual sales will soon reach $5-$10 million. Jim intends to expand sales of PowerBuilder and Sybase, while also developing out the .NET side of the business and bringing to market packaged applications for resale.
Jim married his high school sweetheart, Mary, and they have three daughters who attend St. Paul public schools: Marie, Emma and Grace. Jim enjoys snow skiing and water skiing, dog showing, windsurfing, woodworking, and spending time in Mexico.
